halloween

This year was the first Halloween that Daisy actually somewhat understood what was going on. She understood the most important part anyway; you say "trick or treat", you get free candy.
She was a pro.

Since Halloween fell on a Thursday this year, and Daisy had school, she was able to do a costume change.
 I don't think she would have been able to get around too well on the playground wearing a " mermaid fin"(skirt).
We sent her to school as a cat (something we threw together at the last minute), and ended the day as a mermaid.

Daisy and I met Lincoln, Anna, and Piper in Downtown Woodstock for a kid's festival in the park, which turned out to be...o.k. There really wasn't a lot for small kids to do, but we did get some free candy, a balloon animal, and a bag of peanuts...so...not a total waste of time. :) I got 0 pics from the event because I forgot my camera at home. Lame. :(

After downtown, we met Johnathan, Chris, and Carrie (more friends :)) at Lincoln and Anna's for some chili, then headed out in the neighborhood to do some trick-or-treating.

We had such a good time. Daisy loved it. The neighborhood was great. I don't think there was a single house not participating. It reminded me of being a kid. :)

I feel like Halloween really pulled a fast one on us this year. We barely even got the decorations out in time! October was a whirlwind of events, but we really made a ton of memories, and even some new traditions.

Now onward to Christmas Season Kickoff (a.k.a. Thanksgiving).
